About Me

Hi, I'm Hayley,

Over the past 20 years, I’ve turned to hypnotherapy at times when I’ve felt stuck in my thinking and wanted to regain a sense of control. It has supported me in overcoming anxiety, a long-term 20-a-day smoking habit, weight management challenges, and a fear of flying that stopped me getting on a plane and enjoying holidays and precious time with my family.

For me, anxiety often showed up as an overactive mind – constant overthinking, procrastination, and finding it difficult to switch off. Hypnotherapy helped me feel calmer and more in control of how I responded to those thoughts. As my anxiety improved, I also noticed that my IBS symptoms settled and my sleep became more consistent and restorative.

When it came to smoking, it had reached a point where it felt like the habit was controlling me. I was constantly thinking about when and where I could have my next cigarette. Hypnotherapy was recommended to me, but I was in two minds about whether it would actually work given how strong the habit was and the fact I still enjoyed it. I stopped after just one session, which I found astonishing after smoking 20 cigarettes a day.

With weight management, I had tried lots of different diets with varying degrees of success, but it was hypnotherapy that helped create lasting change. It helped me understand where those unhelpful thought patterns around food were coming from, make healthier choices, and lose two dress sizes while maintaining that change over time.

My fear of flying had become so overwhelming that I couldn’t look at a plane without feeling anxious. Over time, I avoided flying altogether, missing out on holidays and time with my family. Through hypnotherapy, I was able to reframe those unhelpful thought patterns into more positive ones, allowing me to feel calm and relaxed when flying. After four sessions, it became something I no longer thought about – much to my husband’s relief, as he no longer lost feeling in his hand from me gripping it so tightly.

It was these changes that made me want to help others who feel trapped in negative thinking, held back by anxiety or unhelpful habits, or unable to enjoy things in the way they want to. That is what led me to train professionally in solution-focused hypnotherapy.

I am now a qualified Clinical Solution Focused Hypnotherapist, a member of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH), and registered with the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) and the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). These professional memberships and registrations reflect my commitment to high standards of practice and to providing clients with professional, supportive care as they make positive, lasting changes – helping them feel calmer, more in control and able to move forward with confidence.
